WE HAVE A HEART!!

We got the call around 3pm that they accepted a heart offer for Owen.  We are headed to the hospital now, but it will be hours before we even head to the OR.  I will keep everyone updated throughout the process.  Many prayers for the donor family... ugh.. my heart just aches.  Lots of emotions, excitement and fear.  I can't believe it!!

I am uploading a video to youtube now of the big reveal to Mr Owen... I'll post in a bit.  Time to go spend time with my boy.

Hugs.

I have been quietly reading your blog for over a year. I check every week - and have been hoping and praying for this post since you first shared the news that Owen would be journeying down this path. I cried when I saw your title today - so happy for Owen and your entire family. I lost a close family member last year suddenly - and his organ donation is one thing that actually brought our family peace and solace. Praying for you all and the donor's family. What an incredible gift!

Praying, praying, praying. My daughter called me on my cell phone to tell me the news and I had to pull over, because I burst into tears -- tears of joy for Owen, tears of fear of the unknown, and tears of grief and sorrow for the donor family. May God surround Owen and guide the surgeons hands and may God provide healing and health to this special young man. May God also comfort the donor family and give them peace, allow them to know they have given the best gift, as such a tragic time in their lives. GO OWEN!!!!

Praying for you, Simmons family! Special prayers and blessings for Owen and the donor family. May the medical staff be guided by Gods loving grace and may the rest of the family find comfort and peace. I remember the long hard night and days to come all to well. Glad that you are all there together and I can't wait to see a picture of those pink lips and toes.
So excited for you Owen....Andrea, get your running shoes on! Something tells me your going to be chasing that boy everywhere!! ~ Leah (Joshua Garrison's mom)

YAY! How exciting and scary all at the same time! My prayers are with Owen for a routine and successful transplant, and my prayers are also with the donor family. Maybe someday you will meet and the donor family can hear their child's heartbeat carrying on in Owen. :)
