Heart Day... Owen is in the OR.
We all had a decent night sleep and had a great morning together. From the minute Owen woke up he was so excited... TODAY IS THE DAY!! Heart day!! Lots of doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, social workers.. signing consent forms and he was finally wheeled to the OR at 10am.
Owen wasn't scared at all and told us to "stay right there...I'll be back after I get my new heart." At around 10:15 the surgeon told us that the procurement team was already at the donor hospital and they would know in about 30-45 minutes after examining the heart if it was 100%. There is always a chance that something is wrong with the heart and things will get called off.

Praying for Owen today! I am a friend of a heart mom, so don't know you personally, but have been following your posts since last night. I watched the video of Owen finding out about his heart...what an adorable son you have. Praying for you Andrea!!!
