Heart Day... Update #4

One of the transplant surgeons just came in to talk with me.  He said Owen is doing great.  His heart function is wonderful!  There is a slight leak in the Tricuspid Valve that will hopefully correct itself over the next few weeks.  There is also a little more bleeding they are getting under control, which is to be expected.

Owen has developed many collaterals around his heart due to his low oxygen saturations.  The heart is working harder than normal to try to compensate.  In the next few months those collaterals will go away because he will have normal oxygen saturations!!

As for now, they are working on stopping the bleeding and they will close his chest.  He will head to the CVICU to recover and get settled.  It will be a long night ahead of us.. at least a couple hours before we can go up and see him again.

Many prayers for the next 24-48hours as they are very critical in his recovery.  Prayers that we can stay on top of his pain and that he will adjust well to his new heart!!

Thank you to the donor family.  There are no words to express our gratitude.

Wow, is that not the first time in Owen's life he's seen 100% sats? Wow! Thank you, Lord, for progress!
