ZERO Rejection!!

This picture sums it up...ZERO rejection!!!!  I am so happy that after 6 months of rejection, we got a zero.   His heart pressures were 2 with a wedge of 6, pulm pressures were 12.  We will continue with weaning steroids and hopefully keep his heart happy.  Next biopsy is in 3 months!!!
We always try to pack in as much as we can into 48hours in Palo Alto.  Our flight in was super delayed so we didnt arrive before midnight when the rental car center had closed.  Owen learned how to use uber and Lyft and loved it...after he got over the "is it really safe to catch a cab at 1230 in the morning?"
Echo was quick and beautiful... still have the SVC stenosis.
We explored the new hospital and it is so beautiful. It feels like an upscale childrens museum and there was so much to see.

Owen liked the "control panels" on the elevator.
We found out pictures on the wall.

This was a virtual wall in one of the libraries... so fun!!

This was his cvicu room where he spent a lot of time following his cardiac arrest.  We watched them build the new hospital and that made it even cooler.

Owen loves biopsy days.  They accessed his femoral arteries and we lost all access on the right leg.  We are thankful for good access everywhere else.
The new lobby has big couches to hang out on while kids are in surgery.
Owen had to lie flat for 4 hours in the short stay unit so we kept busy watching movies and lego building.
As we were leaving..the Chinese New Year festival was happening in the lobby.  So much fun!!
A late night trip to Subway on University wrapped up the trip.  We are now on our way back to the desert.  We will call this trip a success!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!

February Catch Up!

How is February already half way over??  This is one of my favorite months of the year and it's passing by so quickly.  Valentine's Day was pretty great and Logi woke up saying "this is strange.. there are hearts everywhere.. and candy?!"  Apparently this was his first memorable Valentine's Day experience, and Kit Kats for breakfast made him a fan.  We spent the evening with my family as my parent's hosted a bunch of neighbors for a bbq and we enjoyed the desert rain.

This girl has been my biggest helper around the house and keeps the boys busy while I get my school work done.  College in your late 30s is no joke.. especially science.  I seriously dream of cellular respiration and mitosis at night, my brain hurts.
This little guy keeps us so busy.  He does own pants but never wears them.. ever.  I wish I could bottle up his morning cuddles and conversations with his mama, because I know this time will go by too fast.  I just love it so much!

We survived our first movie experience with a busy toddler, while he was awake.  He loved Jumanji and giggled so much.
Senioritis has hit this girl hard.  She is just over high school and looking forward to college registration.  Last night she made me so proud when she was called, just before we were walking out the door, to a new church member fireside.  She was asked to speak for about 10 minutes and bear her testimony and she was shaking with nerves.  She nailed it!! She spoke from her heart and impressed the chapel (of mostly missionaries).  I couldn't be more proud of her!!
Kam, Owen and Gigi celebrated birthdays together, as always, and we love spoiling these three.  My parent's hosted foreign exchange students from China for a few weeks and it was so fun getting to know them.  My mom taught them how to bake, sew and we showed them what a drive through was.   It was a great experience for everyone and they didn't want to go home.  My dad snuck some Oreos in their suitcases. :)

Owen and I are headed to Palo Alto LATE tonight.  He has a biopsy and cath scheduled for Wednesday. I know everything will go great, but the nerves!!  That's a wrap for our Feb so far..  more to come.

Goodbye January.

January sure came and went way too quickly!  Owen wrapped up the month with an eventful weekend.  He participated in his first pinewood derby and although he didn't place, he was so thrilled anyway.  Carson and Owen worked so hard on his little car and he was so proud to get the "Silver Bullet Award", which Owen interpreted as "best design and 4th place."  He always looks at the good.
Sunday was his 10th Birthday and what a celebration it was.. double digits!!  Thank you to the hundreds of people that sent him Birthday wishes.. he read every single one of them.  He even tried to reply to many of you but "my fingers are worn out."   The only thing he wanted for his birthday this year was a guitar.  We spent the day celebrating the miracle that he is and feeling overwhelming gratitude for every moment we are given with him.  His two angel donors and their families are always on our mind and in our prayers.

Kam got her first two college acceptance letters and now we wait to hear from the Honors colleges about admissions.  Then the fun begins with scholarships.  She is leaning towards being a Sun Devil and staying close to home.  She is decided on a degree in Biochemistry so she can pursue a Ph.D. in Medical School or become a Physician Assistant.  I am so proud of her.. only 4 more months of High School!!

She started her first job this last week and it probably feels so great to get paychecks.  Owen is her boss and she loves getting paid to help out with his schooling, physical therapy and keeping up around the house.  She is NOT a spender, so I was thrilled that she spoiled herself with a new workout outfit today.
Oh and little Logi... what a gem.  He is full of "I want snuggles" and "play with me" these days.  It's impossible to say no to him and his every desire.  He loves snuggling up in Kam's bed with this giant furry blanket .. "so cozy!"  We go visit my parents at least once a week and I cannot get this boy off the trampoline.. he will jump and jump until he can't stand.

Owen was so thrilled to have the neighbor show him how to tune his guitar.  He sat by the fire pit and made up songs for about an hour.  I just sat across from him smiling ear to ear.  I am so happy and full of gratitude for all we have.  I am sad to see January end, but we have a lot to look forward to in February.  :)
