Pseudomonas

Thanks to everyone who fasted and prayed today.. it's working. Owen had a much better day today. They identified the infection which is pseudomonas.  His fevers are subsiding and are much less intense and his HR didn't go above 170 today!  I am so thrilled!  The combination of antibiotics we have him on now are working. All his respiratory/blood viral tests, CDiff, and urine tests have come back negative.  He has been so much more comfortable today.  We played 10 rounds of Candy Land, I read him an entire chapter book, we watched a few movies and we laughed so hard we couldn't breath.  I'm certain the nurses think we are nuts.. but we both needed a good belly laugh.

We started Owen back on Gtube feeds.. he is getting 5mls of his organic whole foods an hour and we will increase as he tolerates it.  We are just trying to wake his gut back up.  He is pooping and peeing just fine so that is a great sign that things are moving around in there. 

Owen is breaking hearts when he asks the team in rounds when he can get his breathing tube out.. SOON.. very soon.   

Today was a better day and tomorrow he will continue to improve.  He is still critical with one on one nursing and we just pray that his stent doesn't clot and that his heart doesn't continue to get worse before a heart offer comes.  Gosh I love this little man of mine!

We had plenty of Facetime chats with Kam, Daddy and Logi today.  They went  grocery shopping (which is something I always do so I sent them a list of my basics) and then to my parents for some dinner and to hang out.  It's hard to be apart, but it's a small sacrifice.  Until tomorrow...
