We made it to Palo Alto!! It has been a long day of traveling. We had an early morning flight and I'm so exhausted.. it's only 6pm!
We arrived at the rental car location with our printed confirmation and it turns out they had no cars. We waited around a good hour until they got a car in for us. It was a blessing in disguise. I called the hotel and requested early check in, so the housekeepers got the room ready for us. Then realized that the oxygen was not delivered yesterday due to an error, so we got that straightened out before we got to the hotel. It was perfect timing. It wasn't long before we were in our car and on our way.
Owen and I had lunch at the Creamery outside and enjoyed the 60degree temps. It's a relief from our triple digit desert heat for sure. We walked around the mall and ran to the grocery store for a few things. Now we're settled into our hotel. The CICU has been slammed at Stanford and there have been no beds available today, so we were settled in and cozy. Then we got a call that we will most likely be coming in later tonight. Sigh.
Looking at the bright side... the sooner we get things moving along, the sooner we can be discharged. Owen is taking a tubby now and getting his jammies on. It may be a few days before he gets a real bath and not just a sponge bath. It's time for me to grab some serious caffeine.. it's going to be a long night!!
