Hanging Out and Waiting

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< We had a great evening and slept really well. I got a call from Owen's transplant team around 7:30 and there wasn't going to be a bed available until almost 9pm. Then I got a call around 8pm that Owen was bumped for an emergency case. A part of me was disappointed because I'm ready to get things started... not to mention the hotel is $$, rental car and I could be at home in bed with my family. Then I just settled into bed and cuddled my boy, thankful that he was not the emergency case of the night. At around 10:30pm, I got a call from one of the cardiologists in the CICU and he said.. "I was just letting you know that we don't have a bed for Owen tonight. I'm so sorry." With that, Owen and I drifted into a deep sleep. It was bliss.
Today is a new day and Owen was up at 6am ready to go.  We started with breakfast in the hotel lobby.  The gentlemen next to us poured himself a cup of waffle batter, but didn't realize he was supposed to cook it.  He sat next to me and smacked his lips as he drank down a cup of batter with his coffee.  Ewwwww.  Owen was eating a waffle next to me so he had to know.. right??

Owen really wanted to go check out the pool ... there was a big warning sign on the gate that said "If you have diarrhea, so not swim!" Or something like that.  Ewwww.

Now we are getting ready for the day and we will be outdoors exploring.  I'm just waiting to hear from the hospital (hopefully before noon) that there is a bed available and we can come in.  I may start to get frustrated if we can't get in today.  They did know we were coming on this date for the past 5 weeks.  Trying to stay positive and optimistic!

I'll keep y'all posted! :)

What an adventure for you...makes me tired just thinking about your last few days (weeks) preparing for this. We'll closely follow along and continue to pray for Owen! Glad you choose to look at the brighter side of things, you're awesome Andrea :) Hugs to you all!

Maybe the hotel has guests that frequently drink the waffle batter and get diarrhea. ;-) I so want a picture of that sign!
