Extreme Makeover -- Owen edition!

We took Owen in for a big boy haircut today!
No more frizzy curls in the back....
No more soft, fluffy hair on top....
And doesn't he look so much older?!
Daddy liked the old hair do better. Kamryn and I are getting used to the new do. Owen has no opinion... except that he was NOT amused when he had to sit still for Danny (our hair guy). I'm sure it will be a while before Owen will allow us to give him another cut, so he will have his fluffy locks back soon enough.

He looks super cute. And it's true, those first few haircuts seem to make them instantly older!

Adorable!! He does look MUCH older. :) I am putting off Grace's 1st cut- I'm a wimp about that stuff. Are you super excited for your vacation? Let me know if you need any tips, I grew up in the Bay Area, lived there for 16 years. When do you come back to AZ?

What a handsome lil' guy! It's amazing how a haircut can turn your baby boy into a big boy. I love it!

I've been following Owen's blog for a while now but never left a message. I guess you could say I'm a "lurker". I love to see how he's doing.

I read your entry about what was going on this time last year and one drs. name stood out. You had mentioned Dr. Pearl. I did some research and this is the same Dr. Pearl that did our son, Isaiah, first 2 surgeries at Cincinnati Children's! I had wondered where he went too. When Isaiah was up for his Fontan last year, we were kind of apprehensive because Dr. Pearl had worked on Isaiah the other times and we just didn't want anyone else to do it. But, we knew he would still be in good hands with Dr. Manning and Dr. Eightsady. It was just hard to realize that he was gone.

If you see him again, ask him if he remembers Isaiah Columbia. Isaiah gave them a run for their money for several months. Tell him that Isaiah is still doing good although his Fontan didn't take. He truly loves the Glenn shunt and his body just didn't take the extra circulation.

If you have an address for him, I'd love to send him a pic of Isaiah for him to see for himself how well he is doing after all his hard work on his heart!

Thanks. Praying for safe travels next week and good news all around.

You're right, he DOES look so much older...he looks very cute! I have yet to cut/trim Carlie's hair, but I guess it's a little different for a girl than a boy.

Can't wait until you guys make it out here so that we can meet up!!!! Have a safe trip!

He looks like such a little guy now. the first haircut is always bittersweet...they lose that baby look and become so grown up quickly.
