Grandpa Todd and Grandma Monica braved the 12 hour road trip to Palo Alto to spend a couple days with Mr. Owen. Owen was thrilled to have visitors. They played lots of games and raced cars for a couple hours yesterday. Thanks for coming and spending time with us. The days go buy quicker when we have visitors. They left early this morning to head back to Phoenix and Owen was sad to say goodbye. Drive safe!
Larissa, Ry, Kam and Logi are flying up on Wednesday, followed by Daddy on Friday. It would be a very good week to get a heart offer. Owen remains pretty stable.. his labs today looked really good. We are still waiting to see if his ANC is up a little.. his little body needs to start producing more white blood cells. His feeding intolerance is getting a little better and I can see the end of TPN in his future. He did puke yesterday morning, but he chugged an entire glass of water after getting a billion meds and 50cc of tube feeds. Poor guy. He drinks water all day long and last night ate a spicy buffalo wing. Today we start all over again.
We can finally back off of the 9mg coumadin dose since his level is climbing and that means NO lovenox injections in the near future. Owen's PICC line also drew blood beautifully today so that means no pokes for labs. All good things! He is a very happy boy. It's the 4th of July and while normally I would be sad we aren't out watching fireworks and spending the day swimming with fam... I'm grateful that we are here together in this hospital room. Owen is here and doing well and I can't ask for anything more this independence day.
