I finally broke down and called cardiology. As I explained in an earlier post, I have a sleepy little man on my hands. Not only that, but his sats have been dropping into the high 60's... even at a liter of O2. They wanted me to bring him in and admit him but I said let's just crank up the oxygen and see how he does tonight. ANYTHING to stay out of the hospital!!
I'll be taking him in to cardiology tomorrow for another echo and bloodwork. I suspect that if anything is abnormal that we will immedietly be admitted. Since he is maxed out on all his meds, our only other option is IV meds until we hear from L.A. What a BUMMER!!
It's all so deceiving because he looks so GREAT, he's HAPPY 99% of the time, his hair is getting thicker and he is sprouting FOUR more teeth! That's why the (not so fever) fevers didn't bother me so much. If only teething affected your Oxygen saturations, we wouldn't have an issue.
Say a prayer, or two, or three for Owen....

I definitely will.
Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way...

In early October, Mary Clare's Oxygen stats also dropped in the 60's. She was sleepy and lethargic like Owen. After what I thought would be a quick visit to the pediatrician for a diagnosis of a bug, ear infection, teething, etc, the pediatrician on call FREAKED and admitted her. After a long night under an O2 tent and IV fluids & antibiotics, we were sent home. I think these heart babies have a heart and mind of their own. Definitely not the norm. Any little bug, cough, etc. pulls Mary Clare's O2 down, so I'm hoping little Owen has just that and only that! He is too cute and too sweet !! We will certainly keep him in our prayers! Let us know what cardiology says!! Love, Kerri and Mary Clare
Thinking of you guys, and praying for Owen! Lots of love to that sweet little man!
I will keep Owen in our prayers. I hope you get good news from the cardiologist!
We will definitely say a few more prayers for Owen this evening and tomorrow and each day after that. What a handsome little boy he is and such a strong fighter. I pray also that you hear from LA very soon.

We will definately say extra prayers for Owen tonight. Always expect the unexpected with these babes. Stay strong, you are doing an amazing job with him. Good luck tomorrow and with all the transplant decisions!
Your Owen has captured my heart. I will pray for his. Siri
I completely agree with you...I will do ANYTHING to stay out of the hospital. I hate basically living in the hospital. I never want to go back unless it is a visit. We will absolutely keep Owen in our prayers. I sure hope that it is just teething or a bug. Teeth are such a pain for these little guys!
I am keeping Owen and the rest of your family in my prayers. I hope this is just a bug.
Hi Andrea- I've never commented on your blog, but I've followed sweet little Owen since his Glenn (my son, Luke, had the Glenn/DKS last August - his diagnosis is double inlet left ventricle). I just couldn't NOT post and tell you that I've been praying for Mr. Owen and that his lethargy is nothing more than a little bug. Someone commented that Owen had captured their heart, and I must say, I agree! He is the sweetest thing and his smile must make all the fear and worry worth it. That's how we feel about our little man. I wouldn't trade our experience, however hard, for anything.
Take care and know many are praying for you!!!
