I have never been much of a reader... I can't tell you one book that I ever read as a child. I don't enjoy curling up in bed with a novel and reading for hours. My mind wanders, I think of a million other things that I SHOULD be doing and then I realize that I've read a whole chapter and have NO idea what I read. So I read it again... thus the cycle continues. A few months back, I realized that I was the ONLY one that hadn't read the Twilight series..... come on... a series about vampires... immortals??? SO WEIRD!! Who reads that garbage?? I borrowed the book from my sis-in-law and after the first chapter I was HOOKED ... couldn't put it down. I read the first two books within two weeks.... (yes, I am a slow reader and it doesn't help that Owen tries to eat the pages as I read). I started the third book... am halfway through and then I got stuck.... back to my old ways. I have read chapter 13 OVER AND OVER again... will they ever graduate??? I decided to wait until the movie came out in hopes that I would get motivated to finish the series because I REALLY DO want to know if Bella becomes immortal... (it better reveal this in the 4th book or I vow to never read again!)
I fell in LOVE with Edward tonight... sorry Carson. At first, Edward was NOT as I had imagined. He had lipstick and makeup on... seriously...that is NOT how I envisioned Edward. As the movie went on... he stole my heart. Needless to say... I'll be neglecting my household duties this week as I disappear into book 3 and 4! I wonder if I could pull off Bella's chocolate hair???

Back to reality.... Owen has been doing FANTASTIC!! He is SO playful, happy, alert, eating everything in sight (still no formula, bummer), and he just looks healthy!! He's on 1/2 liter of O2 and his sats are in the mid 80's. I'm going to start weaning his O2 a little more after the weekend and we'll see how he tolerates it. We are SO thankful that he has made such an improvement on the outside. We know he's still REALLY sick on the inside, but we are BLESSED to be home and enjoying life.
Check out the TWO new teeth on the bottom!

We're still waiting to hear from LA... I'll call cardiology this week if we still haven't heard. It'd be nice to know if we'll be home for the holidays.

I love the books so much. I am just finishing #4 Keep reading it only gets better. I couldn't put them down, then Kylie came along and I have been to stressed to enjoy them.....I don't think I will make it out to see the movie. I dont trust anyone with Kylie yet. I am glad you got out to see it. That is wonderful news Owen has been doing so well. Keeping you in our prayers.
Love,
Chrissie
Glad to hear Owen is well! When ever Callie has seen pictures of Owen she always says "wait, is that Josh?" Maybe that is why I love little Owen, he really reminds me of my boy!
I'm not a reader either, but went to the movie with some friends, I may become a reader, it was pretty good!
So glad to read that you guys are home! Owen has been in our thoughts, as your family faces this new chapter in your heart journey. I just read the first Twilight book as well. I had to smile at the fat that i had to check it out from the Junior section at the library, but it was an excellent read!
Blessings,
Stephanie and Braeden(HLHS)
You'll love the 4th! It was really good! You should've seen all the "twilighters" around us this weekend! It's been insane. The movie theatres and everything around have been packed!
I also just read the Twilight series and I have to say, Book 4 was a HUGE disappointment to me! It wraps up the story nicely though, so I think you'll be satisfied in the end.
Owen is looking so precious and happy. I hope the next leg of his heart journey is as smooth and peaceful as possible.

I hadn't checked your blog in a few days and whew!! Sound like you've had quite the adventure. Owen seems like such a happy little guy, what a charmer. We will continue praying for him.
On a lighter note, I also am not much of a reader and I got stuck midway through the third book too!! I haven't picked up the book in over a year! (But hey, we've been a little busy right?)
It's good to hear a good review of the movie, because most everything I have read and heard has been so negative. And, I am so glad to hear that Owen is doing so well. Have a great Thanksgiving - there is much to be grateful for:)
That's wonderful that you made it home. Owen is such a cutie.
