Back in ICU

Owen's cath is complete... they are just getting him snuggled into ICU. They were able to do a little bit of maintenance, but nothing that will help him improve significantly. The good news... they don't forsee him getting any worse. They can do another open heart surgery and TRY to fix the tricupsid valve regurge a little more, but there is no guarantee. Regardless, he will need a transplant.... it's just a matter of buying him time. Cardiology and Surgery will be in discussions with eachother and transplant coordinators to see how to proceed and when.

What a day??!! I'm going to get me a BIG hunk of chocolate cake, settle in Owen's PICU room, and crash on his big comfy sofa (Ok, not so comfy)!

I just heard about your news. We have been in your shoes and know how very scary, overwhelming, etc. it is to hear your son needs a transplant. My son just had a transplant on Sept. 10th. We are in Utah. It has been an amazing journey. Take your time in deciding. We will be praying for you and your sweet baby. If you have any questions or just need to talk my phone number is
801-597-1462. I would love to talk to you. Hang in there. Prayers are heading your way. Much love, Hilary Cook

Andrea, I'm so sad that the results from the cath lab came back as they did. Owen is SUCH a cutie! Hang in there. We are praying for you. I've heard amazing things about California! I've also heard that Denver is incredibly good.

We hope you and your family are able to hold on to hope and feel peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
