At first he just examined it....
Then he licked it a little and took his time tasting it....
After a bit more examination....
He sucked on it!
While this isn't a huge deal to most babies... we were THRILLED that he actually tried it and ENJOYED it. This is a BIG step in the right direction. WAY TO GO OWEN!!!

I just have to keep telling you how great Owen looks! He will get this eating thing down before long. I hope he continues to realize just how wonderful eating can be. Good luck with a nice, eeasy August!

Yeah Owen!! That is HUGE! He is seriously sooo cute.. I love that little face and smile! He's making such good progress with eating and looks terrific!
This is just the post I needed to read today. I have been getting so discouraged with Gracie's feeding issues. I have felt that maybe she will NEVER eat food by mouth. So maybe there is some hope. It sounds like Owen and Gracie have the same problems. Good to see he is improving.

What a cutie pie. He is one of the more healthier HLHS babies I've seen. Good for him. We are parents of Jack, who also has HLHS, he is 2.5 and looking towards the Fontan as well. I wanted to welcome you guys to the Intermountain Healing Hearts Group...and say hi. Owen looks fantastic...
