Welcome October

Welcome October!!  It's the start of my favorite time of year.  The pumpkins are out,  monsters decorate our home, and all the spooky Halloween shirts can be worn.  We kick started the month with a family movie day to see Hotel Transylvania with our friends on Sunday.  It was a really cute movie to get us in the Halloween spirit.  Both kids have their costumes ready to go and our calendar is full of activities!

Owen likes this dollar store vampire the most and has named him "Owen".  He has been playing with him all day.
On another topic... this little circle popped up on Owen's neck overnight.  It could be a mole.  It could be a freckle.  It's just weird.  The other scars on his neck are from CJ lines, and he has tons of veins on his neck, but this just popped up.  Any ideas?  Could it be his first mole?  We should see cardio in two weeks and also the pediatrician, so I'll get their input as well.
I spoke with Stanford and got Owen's cath, IVIG, clinic and echo scheduled for December. Now it's time to buy airline tickets again and reserve another portable oxygen concentrator for our trip. I feel like we are in the calm before the storm, only the calm is still rough. I haven't prepared one bit for "the call" and know I should be doing something. I am just not emotionally ready for this and so it's hard to prepare mentally. I have the life flight info programmed in my phone, so I figure that will be step one. I should have a bagged packed and ready, but I just don't want to live our lives out of luggage... always waiting.

We have a really busy month planned and can't wait for fall break mid month.  I like busy and wouldn't have it any other way.

Is it ring worm? The pic makes it look like it is red like a ring worm spot. Is it bumpy around the perimeter of the circle?

My first instinct is that it is a little bruise. Maybe somebody kissed him too hard? ;)
Moles do crop at at
his age though. Owen must be so excited for Halloween, it's the perfect age for all the fun.
Can't wait to see the chosen costumes.

Andrea, After 10 months of waiting in Seattle for a heart my only advise is this... Forget about the call. Don't sit around on pins and needles. It will come when it comes and when it does you will spring into action! This is nothing that you have any control of, even though you are a super planner, over achiever, Mom of the year. Just enjoy your family and be grateful for ever moment. :) One waiting transplant Mommy to another :)

It sort of looks like a bruise? But I'd make an awful doctor so hopefully it's just nothing at all. Come on Halloween!! Owen is so darn cute.

I agree to forget about waiting for the call. As hard as it is. We lived our lives around waiting for the call for a month, and realized it was no way to live. We went on as normal as possible. I'm a planner. I made a list of what we needed to pack what we needed to take to the hospital with us. Put it on the fridge so we could find it in a hurry. When that call finally came, all that planning went out the window. The only thing we could focus on was getting him to the hospital.
