48 hours at home

Owen has been home for 48 hours now and I am exhausted!! For the most part, he is a chill baby who only asks for attention 95% of the time. He doesn't nap during the day and sleep through the entire night!!! He smiles anytime we say "give me a smile!" He discovered his hair and loves to rub his noggin. He's also cutting some teeth because he shoves just about everything in his tiny little mouth... so much for the oral aversion theory!

HAPPY 4MONTH BIRTHDAY OWEN! You have conquered many hurdles in your short little life so far and we hope to give you a break and let you be a baby now.

Owen came home on oxygen this time around and I was speechless when the healthcare company delivered this giant green piece of equipment! It really adds a designers touch to our front entryway. This also came with 50 ft of oxygen tubing so we can carry Owen all around the house. The little tanks are traveling oxygen and the iv pole on the left is Owen's feeding pump. Who needs an interior decorator when we've got Apria Home Healthcare delivering the finest in home accessories. This isn't even the lot of it... Owen came home on 9 medicines this time around. One of which is Viagra... yep the one for erectile dysfunction...only Owen needs it for pulmonary hypertension.
On another note... Kamryn had her Last day of seond grade on Thursday!! She always get so upset on the last day.. most of all she'll miss her teacher... thanks Mrs. Cruz for a fantastic year! Her teacher also made each student individual scrapbooks... they are amazing.. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

We're looking forward to a nice relaxing summer!!

I had to laugh when I read this post! I still remember walking into my house after the Norwood and literally screaming when I saw the monstrous green oxygen tank in my house.
It looks lovely in the living room, you should try it there!
The 50 foot tubing is awesome huh? After a few days it was just natural to drag the tube behind me. The 2 girls would go running through the house, full speed & leap over it with out skipping a beat.
Anyway, enough about the oxygen, I am so happy to know you are home! Happy 4 months!!!!

Yay for coming home... The gear rocks doesn't it.... We finally ended up getting an infant consentrator because it was such a pain to have them keep coming out every two days....do you love the pump beeping all night? I actually miss the darn thing... I have to get up with the boy now..LOL... No, it's fine... We hope he doesn't have his o2's for long... tegaderm works really nicely and it doesn't irritate the skin as much... But another fun thing I saw was a mommy who used those tatoo band aids...So cute... Still thinking of you guys, Brynn

Hey, what kind of tape is that on his feeding tube? I have to replace Teags like ever other feed and his poor cheeks have had enough. Hope all is well at home and don't let your hubby go sneeking any of that med:)jk!

Interesting... I didn't know Viagra had multiple purposes. Hmmm

That oxygen tank is HUGE!! Maybe Ikea will start selling some of these accessories soon.

Glad Owen is home!! And I can't wait to see the pics of Kam!

Maybe you can knit a nice cover for that big green tank! ;0) So glad Owen is home and like you said, hopefully he can just be a baby for awhile. I bet Kamryn is thrilled to be home with Owen and able to spend some quality time with her little brother. Enjoy your hot summer with your two adorable kids!

Thanks for leaving a comment on our blog. It was fun reading through yours and getting to know you and your sweet children.

I too remember that ugly green tank. I am actually surprised that you didn't need it after your first surgery. We ended up putting ours in our laundry room with a pillow case over the top of it because our 2 year old kept changing the flow settings. I was really glad when we were able to call home health and get it out of our way.

I am glad that this 2nd surgery is out of your way and that Owen is home. I hope that things will start to settle down and that you will get some time to be "normal". Take care!

Owen looks so great! I bet you are so happy to have him home again. WOW, now that is a ton of "baggage" Owen. At least you have more O2 tanks than you need for now (maybe forever!) Knowing Owen he will be rid of it soon enough. I am sure you are so happy to have the Glenn behind you and now have time to just let Owen be a baby.

Thanks for everything Andrea!
