Biopsy 9 and Great Antibody News!!

Yesterday was C's birthday and we celebrated over breakfast.   Owen and I had to be at the airport by 11am to catch our flight to San Jose.  Our plane was super delayed, so we burned time at the airport while eating soup and croissants.  We made it to Palo Alto in time to check into our room at the RMH.  Owen was THRILLED!!!  I'm pretty certain he thinks the RMH is his second home.  He loves it so much here.   He ran around, played with the other kids and had a great evening.  Just before bed he told me how excited he was for his biopsy.  "Mom, my favorite part of biopsies is the anesthesia.  Best. Sleep. Ever.  The worst part is getting the IV out. Night."
I found this little LEGO selfie on the iPad today.. made me laugh.  He took this on the plane.. notice his drink, peanuts and pretzels in the background.
We woke up bright and early this morning for his 9th biopsy.  He was in the goofiest mood and so happy to be here.  He had "Batman Strawberry" flavor in his anesthesia mask and went right to sleep for me.  He is such an example of bravery.. seriously.. even I would be nervous with all those people around me.

He was out of the cath lab and back in recovery within the hour.  He's eating his turkey sandwich now and watching Wreck It Ralph while he gets his echo.  I just got the BEST news of the day!  No biopsy results yet.. but Owen's DSAs (antibodies) from Nov. 5th came back ZERO!!  Wait for it... NO IVIG TODAY!!!!  No going to the short stay unit.. no sleeping in a recliner tonight... no entertaining my 5 yr old for 18 hours of infusions!  Owen says "it's the best news day ever!"

In about an hour, we'll be discharged and we get to head back to the RMH.  There is dinner, music and crafts tonight.  Owen gets to play with his friends and have a fun night!  That makes me happy.  Thanks for all your prayers and continued support.  Hoping for a zero on this biopsy.. we'll know in the AM before we fly back to AZ.
