We picked up Owen's quad the day before Thanksgiving and Owen has been asking to "ride Jeep" ever since then! I've been telling him we need to pick up a battery but haven't found one at any stores. Each time we go to the store he says "Battery... Jeep Mama". Well, my sister found one on Amazon and we charged it up last night. Man was he excited to go for a drive!!

I didn't know how we would handle the oxygen situation. I just unhooked him (bad mom) and let him ride around with the tubing stuck in his diaper. He was a little dusky but not as blue as I expected.

It didn't take him long to figure out how to steer, go forward and in reverse. I thought he'd be too small for the 12V quad since his legs are so weak and he's not walking much. Phew. He proved me wrong. He may not be riding a bike anytime soon, but he can keep up with the rest of the 2 year olds now!

He rode for about an hour and was less than thrilled when it was time to "park it" in the garage. I told him we'd charge the battery for tomorrow. He sat by the garage door and said "ride Jeep.. pease pease pease!!" Then he fell asleep... at 5 o' clock. It's tough to be a boy.

I took lots of video of him riding, but he kept running me over. Ha. We still need to work on the stopping part. Thank you to the Mullen family, especially Jack and Sean for letting Owen have one of your quads. He LOVES it so much!!!
I just realized that we were all barefoot outside. We live in the desert and shoes are optional around here. Notice no coats and short sleeves in the middle of winter? Another perk of living in the desert.

he's quite the ham... Poor Kamryn resides in his shadow :(
That looks amazing! I love the idea of a quad... now I want to keep an eye out for one for Grant one day! I bet Owen loves cruising around! Good luck at Stanford....I hope you are not stressing too much!
Way to go, Owen!
This makes me happy. While our other kids may protest because we never got them cool ride-on toys, we've talked about it for Rudy someday as it would give him a bit more independence and mobility. Watching Owen seals the deal. Something tells me he'll have mastered the controls by week's end. Better figure out how to mount an O2 tank on the back of that thing so he can run to the store for you!
How absolutely adorable!! I love how Owen is Mr. Independent on his "jeep." What a perfect toy for him! I also love how much Kamryn loves her brother. Both of your children are precious!
Love it!! I was just pricing these for Gracie---but having a hard time convincing Jason that we should buy it. But I love that it gives these kiddos a chance to be like their healthy conterparts.
