Zoo

Fall break has been really fun so far. Today we decided to brave the heat and visit the zoo.

I underestimated how warm it would be at 95 degrees. Owen was pretty miserable and was totally disinterested in the whole experience.

Gigi and Kamryn always have a good time and we made sure to see all their favorite animals. Except for the Monkey Exhibit where you walk around with the monkeys and they poop everywhere. I think it's Gross.

We really wanted to see the new Koala exhibit, but the line was over an hour long. No. Thank. You. Instead we played on the playgrounds and ate Snow Cones.

After not visiting the petting zoo because I think they're way too germy, we detoured across the bridge and up the big hill to see the bears. The bear exhibit was closed. Sad. Kamryn had a blue snow cone and her lips are still permanently blue.

After about two hours of checking out animals, we decided to head for the misters. Guess what? They didn't work. Owen was done. I was doner. (I know doner is not a word.)

The kids (with the exception of Owen) could have stayed all day and on a much cooler fall day, I'm game.

We took the kiddos on the carousel but Owen freaked out and made me sit on the bench with him. He said "weeeeeeeee" the entire time and clapped when the ride was over. Next time... he'll try the actual ride. Ha.

This picture cracks me up. My mom is always trying to get a decent picture of her and the kids... Owen is pulling Kamryn's glasses off, Kamryn's lips are blue, Livvy is just trying to chow down on her goldfish and Gigi is about as bored as punch. Here's your perfect picture mom! :)

When it was time to leave... Livvy was running to the exit, Gigi chased after her, Owen was shaking his sippy of water on his head and Kamryn was dying to get into the air conditioned car.

We had a great time at the zoo today and thanks to my Sis for getting us all in for FREE!!

We met up with Daddy for lunch at a Greek restaurant and shared a Baklava Cheesecake... that made the day kinda perfect!!

a monkey exhibit you can walk around in WITH the monkeys? i'm confused. the monkeys are THAT friendly? like you can touch them and stuff? sounds awesomeee but never heard of that type of thing before! and 95 degrees in fall? sheesh we're having an absolute, almost unheard of heatwave here with 60s and 80s in the forecast!!! *Megan from WI*

ill stop complaining about the heat over here- it's nothing compared to what you guys have to endure!

looked like a great trip. thinking about the pumpkin patch for us pretty soon. not sure if the patch is equipped to handle wheelchair, oxygen, AND Moriah, but we sure will try ;-)

love and prayers,
