Owen continues to eat only blended foods, instead of formula, and is doing great!! He isn't puking (with the exception of the blueberries), and he isn't hooked up to his feeding pump all day. It's a new kind of freedom and his tummy is getting used to digesting REAL foods. I am SO happy that I jumped in with both feet.
Our GI doctor had me email him a food diary for an entire week so that he can have the nutritionist look over it. I can't imagine the combinations of food being more complex...
Calories -- at least 1300/day
Fats -- LOTS
Fluid -- at least 27 ounces/day
And I have to calculate all the other good stuff too!
He eats better and more balanced than I ever have, or will for that matter. Some of my favorites to blend are Avocados, Flaxseed Oil, Whole Milk, Fresh Fruits and Veges, Almond Butter, Chicken, Quinoa, Oats, and Yogurt. I haven't heard back from the nutritionist's with their opinions yet.
Once in a while I make the meal too thick and when I try to squirt it through the syringe, into his Gtube, it creates too much pressure and squirts ALL over the place. Like I said.. messy situation. But no more messy than cleaning up icky puke 4x a day.

thanks for sharing your cutie pie with us...
I love that this is working. You go MOMMY! And Owen for making it all work in that tummy of yours.
First things first...he's just too cute.
Second, I'm so happy blended foods are the ticket! I'll bet it feels like a weight has been lifted!
Oh, btw, I also noticed that we buy our kids the same clothes! Your kid's clothes always catch my eye b/c often they are exactly the same, or just a different color...funny! Did I mention you have impecable taste?
YEAH for progress. I am glad you are having some great success with the change.
