Boston's hospital is number 1 for hearts. It is a bit more expensive to live there, but the hospital truly is excellent (I was just telling Mike this morning that if and when we have another baby and that baby has a major heart defect, I would move back and go to Boston, and stay with family I have back there.) Best of luck with the choices, and just know that you are an inspiration to so many of the pure and selfless love that a mother has for her children. And he is SOO dang cute!

Did you try the DC area? They have a Children's, and I have heard good things but don't know much about transplants. All I know is that DC has good hospitals. We're military, but Walter Reed Army Medical and National Naval Medical are extremely good hospitals, and when our daughter was at both those places the nurses and doctors told us their Children's was good.
Just a thought. Also maybe John Hopkins in Maryland. They are amazing.
Let me clarify:
I don't know about transplants, not the hospital.
Just had to fix that because after I read it, it sounded like I was saying the hospital didn't know much about transplants because I am pretty sure they do!

I haven't read your blog yet, however I wanted to let you know that a friend of mine had a very similar situation with a kidney transplant. her antibodies were very high b/c of previous transplands and she is now on IVIG treatments at the University of WI. she just had a very successful transplant with these treatment you may want to talk to someone there and see what they might have to say. if you would like her coordinators name please just contact me if you would like
