Summertime with Capri Sun

class="blogher_content">

It is officially summer!  With triple digit temps keeping us toasty, I am always looking for fun activities to keep my family entertained while staying cool.  Our favorite activities include visiting local waterparks, touring museums, watching new summer movies at the theatre, or just relaxing poolside.  We love to invite friends or cousins over to have fun with our crew and I love to have Capri Sun juice drinks on hand to keep the kids' thirsts quenched!

Capri Sun juice drinks comes in four wholesome varieties...

  • Capri Sun Juice Drink
  • Capri Sun Roarin' Waters Flavored Water Beverage
  • Capri Sun 100% Juice
  • Capri Sun Super V Fruit and Vegetable Juice Drink.

Our favorites are the Roarin' Waters Flavored Water Beverage and 100% Juice varieties.  The Capri Sun Roarin' Waters Flavored Water Beverage is a fruit flavored water beverage, with no artificial colors or flavors and it's low calorie.  The 100% Juice variety is made with 100% all natural fruit juice.*  The kids love them!  They are "Good for Moms and Awesome for Kids."

* Each pouch provides 3/4 cup fruit juice, which is 1 1/2 servings of fruit according to the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.  As part of a well-balanced diet, eat a variety of fruit every day and be sure to make most of your fruits whole fruit.

I love that Capri Sun juice drinks are convenient and easy to grab on the go.  I can throw them in a cooler and keep them in my car so when we are running around between dance and summer activities, I have a refreshing option that is not only yummy, but good for them.  They are always thirsty!

Parents spoke and Capri Sun listened...
Did you know that Capri Sun juice drink pouches now come with stronger packages and a clear bottom pouch.  Parents can now see what's inside the pouch!

These kiddos are living in the pool this year!  I've been trying to bust the summer boredom and planning daily activities outside so we can keep them healthy and moving this summer.  The more they move the thirstier they are. What do you do to keep your kids moving and healthy in the summer??

For more information on Capri Sun or other varieties that are offered visit the Capri Sun parents site or find them on Facebook

Baby #3 .. 18 week Ultrasound

This morning was our 18 week ultrasound on baby #3.   I know most moms-to-be get so excited to see their baby on ultrasound, but I was just freaked out.  The fear of what could go wrong had me a nervous wreck.  The good news to report is that baby has a four chamber heart and looks to be completely healthy!  He is growing right on schedule and is wiggling around in there.  I haven't felt any movement yet, but I'm sure I will soon.

It still seems surreal to me that I'm pregnant.  When we are out school shopping I keep stopping to peek at baby boy gear but can't bring myself to buy anything.  I didn't purchase a single item for Owen until he was being discharged from the hospital at 30 days old, so I'm a little paranoid (to say the least).  I'm hoping as the weeks pass by I will relax and enjoy what is most likely my last pregnancy.

Here are some pics from our scan today.  Spine and back.. he has the same large ribcage that C, Owen and Kam have.
Here was our attempt at a profile picture..
My favorite... Skeletor picture of his facial bones.

Next up... Fetal Echo in 4 weeks at Stanford.  We got a look at the four chamber heart today, but this little guy's heart is too tiny to see everything we need.  In four weeks and with the fetal echo we will know for sure if his heart is perfect!  For now...we are so grateful and excited that in just five short months we will be holding our little guy!

The Call -- One Year Ago

One year ago today... we got the call!  This week has been an emotional one.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the new life that Owen has been given.  His surgery was technically on the 17th, but we got the call on the 16th at 3:30pm.  My heart sank and tears flowed freely as I grieved for a sweet family that was giving us this incredible gift!  Please say a prayer for Owen's donor family today.. I can't imagine their heartache as they continue to grieve the loss of their little angel.

Here is one of my favorite videos of Owen taken just after I got off the phone with the transplant team delivering the good news.
