Catching Up

Owen's 7th birthday was a good day celebrated with our small fam.  Owen woke me up at 4am asking if he could open presents yet.. ha ha.. go back to bed.   He has been fighting a cough/cold for over a week now and with it comes nasty headaches.  He obliged and went back to bed for an hour.. just an hour.  At 5:30 he was up in our room opening presents.  He got two Batman Lego sets and a Batman game for the WiiU.. everything he asked for and he was thrilled that being sick meant staying home to play.
Mr Owen chose Olive Garden for his birthday dinner.  These four are my whole world!!
We totally don't make funny faces and act like lunatics trying to get Logan to pay attention and smile for us... never.. we are too mature for that.  Ha.  I love that Logan is totally disinterested in this photo.  If you aren't a lightbulb or a fan, forget about it.
This birthday boy was in heaven.  Breadsticks, salad, soup, pizza and those yummy chocolate mints at the end of the meal.  He ate so much food that his tummy was stuffed before the main course.  I'm shocked at how well he is eating lately.. it only took seven years!  Slow and steady...

His birthday was just what he wanted and we can't wait for his party. I should probably start planning that soon.
I've said it before, but adjusting to three kids has been a challenge.  Up and out the door before 7 is getting easier, but afternoon naps are still a challenge.  Mr. Logan likes snuggles, just like his siblings.  So every afternoon around noon, the boys and I head upstairs.  Owen usually gets his reading done on his ipad or will play legos while I get Logan to sleep.  Then I jump up and get as much done around the house as I can in that precious hour!  However, there are days when both boys drift off (usually when Owen is feeling crummy) and I took full advantage and closed my peepers as well.  BLISS!!  I may do that more often.
Logan is getting so big, so fast!  He has his moments of crabbies where he just wants to be held over your shoulder with his bum patted.  He also hates to be put down for more than a few minutes, which makes getting anything done near impossible.  He babbles constantly and gets excited when he's happy.  He is the gassiest baby I have ever met, but never seems to be in pain.  I've tried everything from super sensitive formula, to anti colic bottles (he doesn't have colic at all), to lots of burping, gas drops and gripe water.  He just likes to pass gas. :)
He hasn't shared any smiles with us yet, but these forest animals projected on his ceiling at 2am sure did get lots of grins.  Oh and we moved him into a crib this week, which he seems to tolerate. He hated the pack and play bassinet and wouldn't sleep in his rock and play.  That left a spot open between C and I at night and that wasn't a habit I was wanting to begin.  So I purchased him a super fancy crib mattress and a white crib.. side railed it up to our bed like a cosleeper.. and he is happy to sleep in his own bed.  At night when he wakes... I feed him, burp him and pat his little bum to sleep.  If he decides that it's time for a party, he gets to watch his little mobile and forest friends light up the ceiling.  It's a win win.
Kam is super busy with her science project, getting ready for his spring orchestra concert and she has a high school dance concert next week.  We also just got her all registered for her crazy schedule for sophomore year.  She is going to be a busy girl.
C is busy at work and is taking time off to come to Stanford with us next week.  Busy busy.. but we did relax this weekend and we watched the Superbowl in our jammies... with the rest of America. Can you believe it... we blinked and January came and went.
