We have been busy working on getting organized around here. I have loads of toys and furniture to sell on Craigslist this weekend and while it's not hard work, it sure is time consuming! I am still on my 'transplant nesting' kick, and I am just trying to simply our lives as much as possible.
I got a call from Stanford yesterday and Owen's antibodies remain at ZERO!! We have another IVIG scheduled for next week already. I was telling a friend of mine that it's "not so bad" now that we moved to monthly infusions, and Owen chimed in with "Yes it is! IT'S HORRIBLE!!!" He knows that it's working and can't wait for his new heart, so that seems to help him deal with it. He will tell anyone that asks, about his half a heart, how he needs a new heart, and that he is going to get one "another day." There is no doubt this smart boy is wise beyond his years.
We are off to Vote. Good Luck Mitt!!

I have to say I thought you were a dem since you have a critically ill son who I'm pretty sure receives money from the government to pay for his needs. under Romney that would disappear
Cici..
Actually, we don't receive ANY government benefits at all. We work hard and live beneath our means. I don't like political debates, so I won't start one, but we are Conservative indeed.
After reading this I donated right away. Hard working family you can make it!!!
Wow I don't know you just follow your blog as a friend of mine has a heart daughter. I wuld have to say Cici that was pretty low. Don't you think this family is already dealing with enough and then to throw a dig at them about receiving benefits. How would you like to be waiting for a heart to live..Pretty darn heartless. Good for you Simmons family for working hard. It is very rewarding to know when you can make it when you work hard.

We just ignore people like CiCi around here. It IRKS me just so horribly when even your friends, upon discovering your election opinions, proceed to name-calling, telling you what a horrible person you are since you didn't vote for THEIR choice even though it is theirs and not yours (God forbid we have differing opinions, people!), and just out-right hating on you because you simply favor things differently. I've only seen this behavior (in my circle of friends and family) come from Obama supporters. Is it because they are poorly raised? Lack of education? (Not for all, as my bestie is one of the smartest people I know and she supports Obama, but even she did call Romney supporters stupid :/) Lack of confidence? Or do they think bullying is the best way to sway a voter to their side? You're behavior is appalling, and I am afraid it will continue seeing as how their candidate won. Now begins all the: "Your stupid guy didn't even win", "Obama is going to be great and you're the idiots that voted against him" and the all-time classic, "Romney lost, you suck" and who knows what else. It's is behavior like this that makes everyone keep our support private, as if we are ashamed of our choice, when really we're just afraid of what the opposing side will say or do. Is this really the kind of person you want to be, making people feel this way? We should all be thankful for those that even bother voting, no matter what their side. Fifty-percent of Americans don't care about voting; how about you haters make yourselves useful and go talk to those people and ENCOURAGE them to start caring again. *sigh*
Congrats for staying above the fray on that one. I get those a lot, so I know the temptation to respond. Praying always.
