We had a fabulously relaxing Memorial Day weekend! We took lots of naps, watched a few movies, and spent some much needed down time together. All good things must come to an end.
Daddy went back to work today and we cleaned our house all morning. I love having a sparkling, clean home! The laundry is put away, the dishes done, everything is scrubbed down, the floors are spot free and I am happy. Today was also the first day that
Kamryn did actual chores. She cleaned her room,
vacuumed the stairs, cleaned the bathrooms (including the toilets) and she loved every minute of it! (kidding) It was nice to have a little helper and I hope I made it enjoyable enough that she'll want to help out next time!
Owen has been feeling GREAT!!! I don't know what changed him, but he was lethargic and sleepy for the past three weeks. I was extremely worried about him. I kept telling myself that tomorrow he will wake up and feel good, and he never did. Until Saturday. He woke up a different boy! He has been playing all day, taking a small nap in the afternoon, and back up to play until bedtime! AmAzInG! His activity level is where it was prior to us going to Stanford. I love having my boy back.

After cleaning house, running our morning errands, and a session of Physical Therapy... we went swimming! The weather is in the triple digits and we are set to hit 110 degrees by Sunday. I love how the weatherman calls it "dangerous heat". We're used to it, so it's nothing to us.

Owen did what he does best... Splash, blow bubbles, puts his face under water and kicks his little legs. I am trying to get him comfortable floating around the pool on a noodle. I try not to use flotation devices because I don't want the kids to be dependent on them. I hope to have him swimming on his own by fall. He just loves it!!

We'll have many more swimming days this summer. We live in the pool and rarely does a day go by that we aren't swimming.

Nothing beats the smell of sunblock, chlorine, popscicles, smokin' heat, laying out to dry, taking a shower after being in the pool all day, and then putting on comfy clothes to relax in the cool house. We LOVE that summer is here!

Okay, so I'm not wishing for triple digits here in western Washington, but is it too much to ask to hit at least the 60's??? It is cold and rainy here right now and we are longing for some vitamin D ... send some our way!
I can't tell you how good it is to read that Owen has perked back up. I wonder what it was ??? I'm just so happy that he is feeling better. There's nothing worse than watching your heart child go through a "not-normal" stage.
Have a great week and enjoy that clean house! There isn't much that beats a sparkling house =)
