Saturday, after the wedding, we took advantage of having Auntie Booj and Uncle Rustyn in town. Larissa invited us all over for Chili and pumpkin carving. The kids had a good time gutting their "pumpies"...
Owen wasn't feeling so hot and kept spiking low grade temps all night. He hung out indoors and watched Yo Gabba Gabba. He only ventured outside a couple times to see what the big kids were up to.
Kamryn usually pics out the hardest design, but thankfully, she went easy on Daddy this year. This was also the first time we let her go at it with her own saw.
Here's her finished pumpy.... a monster! She is a perfectionist and quickly pointed out that he has one fat arm and one skinny one.

The kids did such a great job, made a huge mess and were awarded prizes of candy and toys from Grandma Monica and Grandpa Todd.
We're sad to report that the monster pumpkin is already rotting on our kitchen table. I guess we'll be saying goodbye to him when the garbage man comes on Thursday. We're headed to the pumpkin patch this weekend and we'll have to carve a few more pumpkins for the 31st!! We LOVE Halloween!!

wow, your 1st year letting kamryn use her own saw? goes to show me how early we started that with my nieces i guess! my niece used her own saw to carve completely alone for her first time 1mo before she turned 5!!! Obviously we were watching her the whole time and told her a bajillion times she needs to take her time so she doesn't get hurt... but a couple years and carved pumpkins later she's still doing great and no boo boos (Yet) to speak of! :) *megan from wi*
