Owen's Baptism

Today was such a wonderful day!  Owen made the choice to be Baptized and we are so proud of him.  He has been taking Missionary lessons for a long time and decided a little while ago that he was ready.  He has a strong testimony and love of his Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was just beaming today!  

Grandpa Greg performed the Baptism and Grandpa Todd performed the Confirmation and Gift of the Holy Ghost.  Owen's blessing was beautiful and I know he has so much good work left to do on Earth.  There wasn't a dry eye in the room today. 

We have the best ward Missionaries and they have been such a great example to our family.  My kids adore them and I think of their sweet moms at home and how much they must be missing them for the two years that they are gone serving.

I typed up the programs last minute but they turned out great. 

I love our family.  I love the choices these kiddos are making. We are raising three incredible people and I am so lucky they are mine.  This whole Thanksgiving weekend has me feeling so full of gratitude.

We had everyone to our home after the Baptism for soups, rolls, brownies and ice cream... Owen's favorites!  We had so much love in our home today.  It turned out perfect!

Owen.. we love you and couldn't be more proud of you.  We thank two special angels in Heaven for giving you life so you had the opportunity to be baptized today.  I know they are looking down on you and are so proud of you too.  You are my little "person" and I love you so much!

Thankful

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  It wasn't too hard to beat my hospital turkey tray from last year.  My heart is so full and I am so Thankful for all the people in our lives, especially Owen's two donor families.  Without them, Owen wouldn't have been sitting at the end of the table dipping his rolls in his mashed potatoes.  There is SO much to be Thankful for!

 

We started the day with snuggles on the couch, fireplace lit, parade in the background and monkey bread making our house smell fantastic.  It was perfect.  Tanner and Aida hosted this year and did such a great job.  Nothing is better than spending time with family.  My boys were especially excited that Connor was home from college. 

After our dinner with Carson's family, we headed over to my parent's for some more Turkey and Pie.  We all jumped on the trampoline and made room for some more food.  Loaded up on leftovers.  Hung out with my Sis and her kiddos.  Then headed home to clean up the destruction we left from our Thanksgiving morning.  It was really the perfect day and when I tucked my babies into bed their hearts (and bellies) were full.

An early Thanksgiving fun with my Mom and Dad.  Look at that pancake for Logi!  My dad took Kam to her first shooting range and taught her how to fire handguns.  I have so many memories doing that with my dad and talk about a stress reliever.  Kam loved it and can't wait to go again.  Reminder to myself... never let Owen and Logi sit next to each other at a restaurant ever again.

Uncle Rusty Is Married

 Two posts in one week...breaking records.  I wanted to post the pics from Rustyn and Nataly's wedding.  They just happened to have the cutest ring bearer ever!   We love you guys and hope you have many years of happiness ahead of you.

Choosing Happiness

We are doing our best to enjoy every moment this holiday season.  When you spend the holidays inpatient, you really do miss and appreciate the little things.  We are all SO excited for Thanksgiving!  I am going to turn on my fireplace, snuggle up on the couch with my babies and watch the parade.  Kam and Owen want me to make their favorite 'monkey bread' for breakfast and I picked out the perfect candle to light.  It's going to be a perfect day.

 

Owen is getting baptized next Saturday and he is so excited!  We did a little photo shoot at the temple and it's quickly becoming one of their favorite places to visit.  Logi actually asks if we can "go for a ride to the temple."  We are very lucky to have this beautiful temple in our backyard.

We took this quick selfie after church on Sunday.  My kids come home and strip down faster than I can make lunch.  This picture screams HAPPINESS to me!

The weather has been pretty amazing lately and we try to get to the park at least once a day.  Logi loves making sand angels and it takes everything in him not to throw sand in the air.  Saturday was music in the park at my parent's... food trucks, awesome music and tons of people at the park.. it was the great way to spend the day.

Life has been throwing us plenty of curveballs lately and we chose Happiness.  We choose each day to wake up and appreciate the good in our lives.  We choose to serve others.  We are so very blessed and grateful to have one another.  Owen found a great quote for me this week...

"When you LOVE what you have, you have everything you need." 

Happy November

Oh my goodness.. how much different does Owen look here?  We almost doubled his steroid dose after his last biopsy rejection and now his cheeks (and tummy) are about to pop.  We had a cardio clinic at PCH this week and Owen's echo looked good, but his heart muscle looks slightly thickened.  We doubled up on his blood pressure meds since the steroids increase his BP.  We have another biopsy scheduled in a couple weeks at Stanford and we have no idea what's next.

Owen finally got his new foot orthotics.  They are helping him so much already!  He has been needing these for so a while.

We had a fantastic Halloween as always and it was our first Halloween in our new neighborhood.  We had the missionaries and my family over for dinner before we hit the street up for candy.  Owen was Ezio from Assassins Creed, Kam was Robin Hood and Logi was "Chase is on the case" from Paw Patrol.

Owen's poor little feet were so fatigued I had to dust off the wheelchair.  He still managed to roll his ankle and spent the rest of the evening icing his foot while riding around the neighborhood.   My favorite picture of the weekend was my littlest one sneaking into the candy bowl. 

 

I am so ready to enjoy my two favorite months of the year....Happy November.
