Look who's 10 months old!!
HAPPY TEN MONTHS MR. OWEN!
And we can't wait for daddy to come home....
Back to reality.... Owen has been doing FANTASTIC!! He is SO playful, happy, alert, eating everything in sight (still no formula, bummer), and he just looks healthy!! He's on 1/2 liter of O2 and his sats are in the mid 80's. I'm going to start weaning his O2 a little more after the weekend and we'll see how he tolerates it. We are SO thankful that he has made such an improvement on the outside. We know he's still REALLY sick on the inside, but we are BLESSED to be home and enjoying life.
THANK YOU for the jogging stroller Panfi... I took Owen jogging last night and it felt
Kamryn did a fantastic job at the school spelling bee yesterday, we are so PROUD! This was Kamryn's FIRST flue shot and she is now itching from head to toe. It's just a minor side effect, but I was told to watch for shortness of breath and swelling in which case I am to call 9-1-1. Needless to say, she is THRILLED to have the day off of school thanks to her reaction and REALLY wants to play VIVA PINATA, but is too ill to do her homework. I remember those days!!!
We have decided to have ALL of Owen's cardio records sent to UCLA and Children's Hospital of LA for followup. We should hear back in less than 2 weeks. We scheduled a followup with cardiology for four weeks out and Dr. Stock said "If you're still in Phoenix we'll see you in 4 weeks, if you're already in LA, we'll just cancel." ALREADY IN LA??? I better get things organized around here and in order because it sounds like everything could happen fairly quickly. Mr. Owen is always keeping us on our toes!
Owen hasn't been in the mood for baby food this week nor for his devices. So after we try and eat for 20 min... we consider it a success (either way) and I let him PLAY!! This comes highly recommended from our occupational therapist as it is a great way for them to get comfortable with the food and it's smells. The #1 trick of the trade is to constantly give him exploration foods... ie: bell pepper slices, frozen waffles/pancakes, beef jerky, biter bisquits, pear slices. ANYTHING that can be chewed, slobbered and turns to mush. When all else fails... ICE CREAM works for us!!
