Stay Healthy

I am finally feeling 100%.  Too bad the germs spread like wild fire and now two more of us are down!  Kam and Daddy are feeling the effects of the sinus congestion and after a call from Kam's school nurse, I picked her up after third hour.  I loaded up Kam with some Elderberry syrup and she is off to sleep.  Daddy is sticking it out at work as long as he can.

Owen is feeling better after having two days of congestion.  I honestly think the IVIG is helping increase his immune system.  We are going to stay quarantined in our house from now until next week when we head to Stanford for Owen's cardiac catherization.

We are scheduled to have family pictures tomorrow, and after rescheduling once, I'd hate to reschedule again.  We may just have to rock the red noses and watery eyes.. when I say "we", I mean Kam and Daddy.

Just as I am writing this, I feel a tickle in my throat..

If you are sick, have been sick, are thinking you may be getting sick or just like to spread germs.. stay away!!  Also.. have you heard how terrible the flu season is already?  Yikes.  We are all armed with our flu shots.  I will admit that I have never been a fan of the flu shot before, I feel like it is hit and miss on if it actually does help.  Now that Owen is waiting for a heart and we are spending so much time at the hospital during cold/flu season, we have no choice, I have to arm myself the best I can just ot protect others.

Enough about germs.  I'm off to clean my house, wash the sheets and disinfect anything I can.  Stay Healthy!!

I owe a big shout out to Kam for doing a great job in her Orchestra concert last night! They played a melody of Christmas music and did a great job!

Daddy's Bday and Parade of Lights

Saturday was Daddy's birthday and we kept things simple and relaxing. After making Daddy breakfast, we let him relax while I ran to the store and bought ingredients for his requested Apple Pie. We baked and made some lunch, which included burgers and homemade french fries.. YUM! Before we knew it, we had to get ready and run the girls to the Parade of Lights. They looked darling in their lighted hoodies and Elf hats. They were dancing in the parade to 'Pennys From Heaven' from the Elf Movie.

After dropping the girls off at the judging and staging area for hot cocoa and cookie, I headed home to pick up the boys.  We ran back to the parade route to find decent parking and set up our spots to watch the parade.  This boy was pure entertainment while we waited.

Love this guy.. he always has us laughing!  Grandpa Todd and Monica met us at the parade and they were good company as always.

Here is our dance team float! I can't take any credit for this, but I think the moms in charge did an AMAZING job!! They had all the reindeer and the giant sleigh for the little girls to ride in. It was really cool! The older girls and the Boyz Crew danced and did tricks along the parade route.  I was so proud of our dancers!

We left just before the parade ended, and by doing so, we missed out on alot of traffic. We dropped off a very exhausted Gigi and then met back at our house for some warm homeade apple pie and ice cream.  We sang Happy Birthday to daddy first.

This morning, we woke up and since I was finally feeling better, decided to head over and see baby Bridgit.  Seriously.. how tiny and adorable is she?!  Melts my heart.

Kam held her for a while before Auntie (that's me), woke her up and got her dressed.  Owen had his turn, as well as Liv and Lucy.  I then took over and became the biggest baby hoarder of all time. I even kept her awake for a couple hours so that she'd take a nice long nap with Kel later. :)

Kam is so sweet with her.. feeding her and burping her.  Can you tell that I am baby hungry!?  I need to do some serious convincing on the hubs, and then we have the infertility issue, oh.. and the heart transplant issue.  Someday.  Someday, I want just one more. :)  So sweet.

Nana asked me today if I ever had one of these... referring to the baby.  She has Alzehimers so she forgets things, but I told her that Kam and Owen were both tiny babies once.  Then I told her that Owen was about this same size when he had his first open heart surgery... so tough to think back on that.  But so grateful that he is almost five years old.

Time sure does fly, and can you believe that it's already December?!
