We woke up at 3:30am and hit the road by 5. It took us just shy of 12 hour to return home to Phoenix and we are exhausted. Not too exhausted to carve a pumpkin, dress up the kids and hit the neighborhood trick-or-treating! I have some great pictures that I will post tomorrow. I am just WAY too exhausted to even think of uploading them now.
Thank you to my Mom and Uncle Rog for making dinner, gutting the pumpkins, and picking up the candy!! We couldn't have done it without you.
I hope you all had a safe and sweet Halloween!

Discharged and Cardiology Clinic
It feels so good to be back at the Hotel tonight!
We had a room to ourselves last night and each us of got our own hospital bed... talk about spoiled. We were discharged this morning with just enough time to go back to Owen's cardiology cinic appointment on the first floor of the hospital. After four hours in clinic, we finally got to chat with Dr Rosenthal (Owen's Cardiologist).
They are impressed with his weight gain over the last week, but nothing is as impressive as his great cath results! Owen is a rare example of a kiddo with HLHS that can have such improved pressures and function, in such a short amount of time. Either they continue to decline or they need intervention. Dr Stock has always said "it can happen, I have seen it happen."
With that being said, he will most likely NOT be a candidate for the Fontan at this point. The risk is too great. Unless of course, there is another miracle! Regardless, we have committed to transplant and when the time comes, we will move forward. Until then... we don't need to followup with Dr Rosenthal for SIX months!!!
We will continue to see Dr Stock (Owen's Phoenix Cardiologist) frequently. We are also going to work on trying to wean him off his oxygen. Wouldn't that be fantastic?!
I am so excited to go HOME in time for Halloween! We will spend the holidays together as a family, celebrate both kids birthdays and enjoy watching Owen just be Owen!
Carson and Kamryn fly into San Jose tomorrow afternoon and we can't wait to give them the biggest HUGS!! We have the night tomorrow to visit a pumpkin patch and enjoy a FALL night in Palo Alto. We'll drive home early Saturday morning so that we can trick-or-treat at HOME on Halloween!!!
Can you see me smiling??!!!!
