Disneyland didn't open until 10am, so we had plenty of time to sleep in, eat a big breakfast at the hotel and drive to Disney. We always start our Disney days in Frontier Land and so Big Thunder was ride #1 on our to do list. First, we had to wait for them to open the ropes.
I found a shady spot to relax while these three rode Big Thunder.. Owen was not a fan of the train. We rode Pirates and Jack Skellington's Haunted mansion before heading over to Splash.
See Owen's smile above... now look at the terror in his face below. He loved it... I know he did!
After Splash the boys went to ride Pooh while Kam and I found a bathroom. Being pregnant at Disneyland, I know where every single bathroom is in each park!!! We made our way through Adventureland to find Indiana Jones was shut down and Kam was craving corndogs. We found a shady spot to eat and then headed back to ride Jungle Cruise (the most boring ride ever!)
We grabbed a Dole Whip and found our way to Tomorrow Land.. my favorite place in Disney. We rode Buzz, they all rode Space Mountain, and then hit up Star Tours. I kicked up my feet, took another bathroom break and guzzled at least a gallon of water. I knew Owen would love Innovations so we headed there next. He had so much fun checking out the Ironman suits, suiting up as Ironman with Jarvis, and then we headed to Asgard!
First we had to pass through the Byfrost... but Thor was waiting. He was not happy when Owen asked for Loki.
Innovations was really cool, literally cool, like freezing cold in there. We went downstairs to find big leather sofas and may have camped out for a little bit to cool off. It was not seasonally cool at Disney.. temps were in the 90s -- 100s while we were there. Daddy and Owen took a spin on Autopia.
We were already exhausted and it was time to eat, so we jumped on the monorail for a ride to Downtown Disney. We tried out Earl Of Sandwich for lunch and just relaxed our feet for a bit.
Owen insisted on getting a bubble gun and I'm sorry to all the other Disney goers that were covered in bubbles as we walked through the parks.
After a nice long break, we hopped back on the monorail and made our way to Fantasyland. This was Owen's first time on the Matterhorn.. and his last.
There were no lines for the teacups... so we were on them for a while. Dizzy much?
We got in the wheelchair queue for Alice and headed over to Dumbo. Owen loved Dumbo.. but who doesn't love Dumbo?
Back to the teacups...followed by Alice and then Peterpan. The sun had set and we were done with our first day at Disney!
This was our only magical picture in front of the castle.
It was a great first day, but man oh man our feet were throbbing!! We were ready to go to bed!
I don't know what we did for dinner that first night.. it's all a bit of a blur. We made our way back to the tram that dropped us off at our car. We slept so well that first night! In fact, even the tooth fairy slept through her duties when Owen lost tooth number 8. She made it up to him!
Tomorrow.. California Adventure!

Road Trip to Disney
I finally had a second to sit down and blog about our adventure to Disney! It had been four years since we made the trek to Anaheim and we were all a little excited.
It took me up until the week before our trip to decide on a hotel and I'm happy to say it was a great choice. We stayed at the Residence Inn down Harbor Blvd and had a full kitchen, dining room, family room, bedroom, free breakfast and parking.. all for less than $130/night.
After getting settled in and picking up some groceries for the week, we headed to downtown Disney. Not the brightest decision on a Sunday evening. It was crowded!! We hit up a few stores but couldn't decide on a place to grab dinner.
We ditched Downtown Disney just about as fast as we arrived and went to find the Chicken Pie Shop for dinner... to find out it's closed on Sundays. We tried Bucca and they were packed! We finally settled for Joe's Crab Shack. We had full bellies and headed back to the hotel to relax and get ready for our first day at Disney!!!
More on that first thing tomorrow...

We Made it Home!
We just spent this last week on a much needed vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth! We are home. We are exhausted. I am getting ready to blog about our fun week, but first I am catching up on laundry!
This pregnancy is kicking my butt, but I am officially in my third trimester! It's going by so quickly! Baby #3, still nameless, is moving around like crazy and I'm pretty sure that I can't get any bigger or I'll explode! I'm not kidding.
I'm excited to post about our trip! We have fall break this week.. so no school for my kiddos! I love having them home all day. I'm going to have to get creative this week and keep them busy. They both have a ton of makeup work from school, so I guess that will help.
Owen has his annual biopsy at Stanford on the 14th. It's kind of a huge deal!! They will check not only for rejection of his heart, but they will check his coronary arteries and make sure all his collaterals resolved themselves. He has been losing weight at a rapid pace and it's freaking me out a bit. I am still using his gtube often to give him tons of calories/fat of blended foods, but he eats orally a good amount as well. Who knows? He's also had some unexplained bruising and bleeding going on so we are checking his platelet count at the lab this weekend. Just enough to keep me on my toes!
